Difference Between PMS And PMDD
It is not quite difficult to differentiate pms from pmdd. The 3 points below should resolve this issue quickly
-
Normal menstruation could be associated with symptoms like bloating,
breasts tenderness, mild lower abdominal pain etc. These symptoms are
usually mild and do not interfere with a woman’s routine activities. -
When these symptoms become severe enough to interfere with normal
activities like school attendance, it is called PMS or premenstrual
syndrome. - When PMS symptoms become even more
severe, it becomes PMDD or the premenstrual dysphoric dysorder (PMDD).
The difference simply lies in the severity of the symptoms. PMDD occurs
in about 2 to 5% of menstruating women.
