Remaining Calm!

Hi, my name is Samantha. I am a 36-year-old female with no children. I have had a history of
Infertility, having one pregnancy with the help of Clomid, only to result in a loss, an ectopic pregnancy. This happened in 2005, it is Sept. 2012 now. I decided not to undergo any further fertility treatments. Anyway, my cycles are normally 30-33 days. I am currently
On day 43 this cycle and NO period. I have taken two HPTs and they both are negative, not surprising to me. I am experiencing a variety of emotions/ feelings. I’m #1 disappointed that I am infact, not pregnant. Yet I am nervous wondering what the underlying issue may be. I am not under a tremendous amount of stress, diet change, etc. I’m wondering if maybe PCOS or perimenopause is to blame. Never missed a period in the past. Of course I have read many things searching for a possible cause/ answer, and most things say to not worry about it and see a doctor if you ever have any questions about your cycle. So having said all of this, I will probably schedule a check up with my gynecologist just to see what’s going on…
Doc’s reply. Samantha, thank you for sharing your experience on “missed period reactions”. Sorry to hear of the major difficulties you are facing there. There are many women who will identify with this. Your title, “remaining calm” says alot and hopefully will encourage the many women who browse this page. It was a brilliant idea to see your doctor;that’s exactly what I would have recommended. Hope you finally have that “missed period” you are longing for sometime soon!
